TAYLOR, Beverly Joy (nee Blake)
Dec. 18, 1944 - Jan. 2, 2015
It is with much sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Wife, Mother, Granny and Great-Granny on Friday, January 2nd, 2015. Bev passed away suddenly but peacefully at home in Red Deer, Alberta at the age of 70 years young. She will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Eric Taylor of Red Deer, AB, her three children; Danny Miller (Suzanne) of Sylvan Lake, AB, David Miller (Alicia) of Red Deer, AB and Kathy Cegielny (Tom) of Red Deer, AB. Six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; Calvin Miller (Jenna) with children Kadence and Austin of Red Deer, AB, Travis Miller (Jennifer) with children Levi and Catherine of New Jersey, USA, Tiffany Glass (Brian) with son, Easton of Red Deer, AB, Danielle Leduc with children Kiyah and Lexus of Red Deer, AB, Brittney Miller with daughter Ava of Red Deer, AB and Cassandra Leduc of Red Deer, AB. We take solace in knowing Bev is now reunited with her pre-deceased parents, Eli and Elizabeth Blake, her brothers; Orville, Raymond, and Leland Blake and her sister, Marilyn Lastockin. She will be held in loving memory by her surviving siblings, Harold Blake, Helen Cote, Joanne Messner, Jean Hasselberg (niece and close friend) and by all of her other numerous beloved nieces, nephews and their families. Beverly was born in Bassano, Alberta, raised in Hussar, Alberta and was the youngest of eight children. Growing up she loved spending time with her family and always enjoyed attending the country dances. She was a fantastic dancer, loved to laugh and had a mischievous sense of humor. There was always a twinkle in her eye. Married at the young age of seventeen, Bev transitioned to a farming life with her then husband, Neil Miller, where they raised their young family. In 1975 Bev was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. At that time they moved to Central Alberta, living in Red Deer, Blackfalds, and Sylvan Lake, then settling in Red Deer again. Bev absolutely loved children. During this time she opened her home and cared for and loved so many little ones. Bev's faith and positive outlook on life carried her through many health challenges over the years. Never wanting to miss out on any event or family gatherings, you could count on seeing her there with her coordinating outfits and matching shoes. She loved to sparkle! Bev was kind and helpful, and despite her illnesses was able to volunteer throughout the years to various organizations and woman's groups. In 1995 Bev married her true love, Eric and the two began a wonderful life with each other and started "cruising" the world together. She never imagined she would experience so many adventures and see so many beautiful places. She always looked forward to and enjoyed those times with Eric. Bev met many wonderful people in her lifetime and treasured their friendships throughout. Above all, Claire, who was like a sister. Bev devoted her life to her family and would never miss an opportunity to tell people just how proud she was of each and every one of them. Her absolute greatest joy was spending time with her family. She will be sadly missed by all, but is now pain free and dancing once again. A funeral service and celebration of Beverly's life will be held at the Knox Presbyterian Church, 4718 Ross Street, Red Deer, Alberta at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 8th, 2015 with a reception to follow in the lower level of the church. Minister Doug Maxwell to officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Beverly's life.
