<div itemprop="description">Joyce was the second of five children born to Humphrey and Muriel Charlton of Howell's Lake district south of Pine Lake, Alberta. She grew up on the farm and went to Howell's Lake school till grade 9, then in Loyalty for grade 10, then stayed in the dorms in Red Deer for grades 11 &12. Joyce was confirmed in the Holy Trinity Anglican Church at Pine Lake, AB. She then moved to Calgary where she took her training at the Holy Cross Hospital graduating as a Registered Nurse in 1950. In May of 1952 while working at the Olds Hospital she met her soul mate through a friend and fell for Glenn Turple on their first motorcycle ride together. They were married October 25, 1952 in a double wedding at St. Luke's Anglican Church in Red Deer with Joyce's younger sister Beth who married Fred Benson. In 1956 she took on her new role as a mother and homemaker when she gave birth to Dale in November. After moving the business to Red Deer Gordon was born in May of 1959. The last addition to the little house in Westpark was Brenda, born in March of 1961. In 1966 Joyce and Glenn bought their dream home in Sunnybrook where they have resided ever since. Joyce was a great caregiver for her family and she was a matriarch for the large family that she grew up in. She was a proud member of Gaetz Memorial United Church and received her 50 year certificate for her work with the UCW. She and Glenn travelled to many places including England where her parents were raised. They also travelled across Canada and into the states. Her joy was watching her grandchildren grow and her family grew with a son in law and a daughter in law, then 6 grandchildren. Then more recently 6 great grandchildren including the most recent one on her 89th birthday in June of 2016. <br> <br>Joyce passed away in the evening of April 28 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital with family at her side. Mourning the loss of her passing after almost 65 years of marriage is her loving husband, Glenn; son Dale Turple; son Gordon (Sandy) Turple; daughter Brenda (Darrell) Neufeld; granddaughter Charisse (Shawn) Easter; granddaughter Chelsea (Seamus) Willox; granddaughter Christine Turple; granddaughter Ashley (Justin) Fizer; grandson Steven Turple; grandson Kristopher Neufeld; great granddaughters Teslin & Trystan Easter; great granddaughters Olivia & Alice Willox; great grandsons Brody & Owen Fizer. She is also survived by her brother John Charlton and sister in law Bev Turple as well as many nieces and nephews. Joyce was predeceased by her sister Audrey and Keith Kinsey; sister Beth and Fred Benson; sister in law Lynn Charlton, brother Bruce Charlton and brother in law Rex Turple. <br> <br>In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Holy Trinity Anglican Church - 36364 Rge Rd 252 Red Deer County, AB T0M 1R0 or to Gaetz Memorial United Church - 4758 Ross Street Red Deer, AB T4N 1X2. <br> <br></div>
