<div itemprop="description">MURPHY, E. Frank<br /><br />E. Frank Murphy passed away in Red Deer on the 9th day of March, 2015, at the age of 95. Frank was born in Hanna, Alberta, the second son of Edward and Ruby Murphy, and attended public and high school in Hanna. He served in the Navy during the War and received his discharge while stationed in Halifax. He then attended the University of Alberta, Faculty of Law, and upon graduation, came to Red Deer to article to the late Justice W.J.C. Kirby. Frank never had a desire to live any place other than Red Deer, and was a member of the Law Society of Alberta for 50 years. He was appointed a Queen&rsquo;s Counsel in 1962, and his law career included a lengthy term as a Bencher of the Law Society of Alberta, provincial Court Judge, Chairman for several years of the Review Panel at Alberta Hospital Ponoka, and an Independent Chairman at the Bowden Institution. He was a devoted and active member of the community, and over a long period of time served as President of the Kinsmen Club, the Rotary Club, the Chamber of Commerce, and two terms as chairman of the Red Deer General Hospital Board. He was also a Past-President of the Red Deer Golf and Country Club. Frank was predeceased by his loving wife, Nonie, and his daughter, Jean. He will be fondly remembered by his sons; John and Jim (Laura), three grandchildren; Patti (Curt), Kelly and Jonathan (Amber), and three great-grandchildren; Eli, Kai and Faris. At Frank&rsquo;s request, there will be no public funeral service. In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to make a donation in Frank&rsquo;s memory may do so by sending same to the Red Deer Hospice Society, 99 Arnot Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta, T4R 3S6.<br /></div>
