<div itemprop="description">McDONALD, Irene Elizabeth <br /> <br />Mrs. Irene Elizabeth McDonald of Red Deer, AB, passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at the age of 84 years. Irene was born on July 20, 1929 in Macklin, SK. She moved with her parents to Lacombe, AB, in 1946. Irene moved to Red Deer, AB in 1950 and was united in marriage to Andrew McDonald in 1951. Irene is survived by her children; Larry and his wife Julie of Union Bay, BC, Gwen Philip and her husband Bob of Red Deer, AB, and Andy and his wife Kathy of Fort Saskatchewan, AB; six grandchildren; Marnie (Stuart) Polege, Mandy (Jason) Bundt, Sarah Jane (Mathieu) Bergeron, Ryan (Amber) Philip, Kyle Philip, Raegan (Nkole) Bwalya; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Jackie (Edna) Deck of Lacombe, AB; numerous loved nieces, nephews; and a host of friends. Irene was predeceased by her husband, Andrew, in 1959, an infant son, David, in 1953, her father, Jacob Deck, in 1973, her mother, Lena Deck, in 1975, three brothers and three sisters. The family thanks Victoria Park, Comfort Care, and Villa Marie for their kindness and caring of Mom. Also thank you to Red Deer Regional Hospital health care staff. A Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 5508 48A Avenue, Red Deer, AB on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Heart &amp; Stroke Foundation, 202, 5913-50 Avenue, Red Deer, AB T4N 4C4 or to the charity of your choice. <br /></div>
