<div itemprop="description">Islay Marion Hobson (Nee Thexton) passed away peacefully at the Rosefield Centre in Innisfail on Friday, April 17th, 2015, at the age of 91 years. Islay was born on a farm near Winnipeg on September 26th, 1923. Her father died shortly after in 1928 and her mother raised Islay and her six other children on her own. Islay&rsquo;s first job was at the Eaton&rsquo;s mail order office in Winnipeg. Islay loved to dance and met the love of her life at the Legion dance in Winnipeg. Married in 1949, she and her husband Bill (now deceased) moved to Alberta where Bill found work as an electrician eventually working for the government of Alberta. Islay and Bill lived in Calgary, Edmonton, Drumheller, Lethbridge and Red Deer where they finally settled in retirement. Islay went back to work with Eaton&rsquo;s in Lethbridge in the 1970&rsquo;s and later when the family moved to Red Deer. After that she worked as a clerk in maternity shops in Parkland Mall. Her hobbies were dancing, travelling and gardening. Islay was a very sweet lady and made friends easily. She was entirely devoted to her family and raised loving children; Louise (now deceased), and Bill Jr. She is also survived by Louise&rsquo;s son Michael and daughter Carolyn and Bill Jr.&rsquo;s daughter Ramsay as well as great-grandchildren; Ella, Everett and Jantelle. A small service will be scheduled in Edmonton where her remaining family resides.</div>
