<div itemprop="description">The family of James (Jim) Faechner sadly announce his sudden passing at home on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the age of 75 years. <br><br>James’ passing is mourned greatly by his wife of 52 years, Jo Anne (Judy) of Red Deer, AB; his children Rodney (Celeste) Faechner of Armstrong, BC, Lee Anne (Stephen) Page of Hanna, AB, Shane (Kristin) Faechner of Red Deer, AB; and his five grandchildren, Kristen (Jason), Maegan, Michael, Ward and Owen. James is also lovingly remembered by his sisters and brother, extended family and friends. <br><br>James was predeceased by his parents Daniel and Lillian Faechner.<br><br>On September 13, 1941 in Hanna, AB, James Rodney was born to Daniel and Lillian Faechner. He was raised on the farm in Craigmyle and schooled in Surprise Country School, Craigmyle, Delia, Hillcrest School in Medicine Hat, finishing with graduation in Hanna. On August 1, 1964 he married Jo Anne (Judy) Raugust. They welcomed three children, Rodney, Lee Anne and Shane.<br><br>James and Jo Anne farmed in the Hanna area until they moved the family to Red Deer for James to pursue a Real Estate career. Although he was quite successful in this endeavor, James found his true passion in the years to come in selling farm equipment, bringing his career full circle back to his farming roots.<br><br>James took such pride in his children and their spouses as well as his grandchildren, lovingly watching his family grow, prosper and thrive in their own right. Throughout the years he enjoyed supporting and cheering on his grandchildren, nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews in their numerous extracurricular activities. He filled his retirement years with visiting his family, the joy of gardening and also worked many summers at the Balmorral Golf Club in Red Deer. James also loved long country drives with Jo Anne or anyone that would go!<br><br> A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, October 31, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Eventide Funeral Chapel, 4820-45 Street, Red Deer, AB, T4N 1K5. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation, 2888 Shaganappi Trail NW, Calgary, AB. T3B 6A8 (1-877-715-KIDS).<br></div>
