Jerome Geenen
May 14, 1957 - March 18, 2017
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jerome (Jerry) Geenen on Saturday, March 18, 2017, in Red Deer Hospital after a short and courageous battle with cancer.
Jerry was born on May 14, 1957 in Humboldt, Saskatchewan, the youngest of six children born to Joseph and Anne Geenen.
After graduating from Muenster High school, Jerry pursued a career in plumbing. In the early 1990’s, Jerry returned to school. He enrolled at the University of Saskatchewan and received a degree from the College of Commerce. He returned to plumbing and obtained his
interprovincial ticket as a steam pipe fitter. This training took him to work in Regina, Key Lake
and finally Red Deer, where he found work in the oil industry at Fort McMurray.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Maria, daughter, Jasmine, and daughters Chelsea
(Cam) Jennett of Shaunavon, Sk., and Danielle (Scott) Kesby of Australia, who are awaiting the
birth of their third child, and their mother Milli (Garth) McLean of Saskatoon, Sk. He was also blessed with grandsons Hadin and Jace Jennett, Archer and Oakley Kesby.
Also surviving are his brothers and sisters Jenny (Stan) Delainey, Ted (Torinda) Geenen, Murray (Marie) Geenen, Celeste (Jim) Wolfe, and George Geenen, survived by his Aunts, Mary Berscheid, Agnes Hewitt, and Margaret Angelstead as well as
numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Jerry was predeceased by his father, Joseph Geenen (2007), mother, Anne (Thurmeier) Geenen (2014), his paternal and maternal grandparents and several uncles, aunts and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 2:00 - 5:00 pm at the Eventide Funeral Chapel (4820 - 45th Street E) in Red Deer, Alberta.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. from Christ Corridor Church (5514 - 43rd Street) In Red Deer, Alberta with Pastor Charlie Ayuno officiating.
