BOMHOF, JO-ANN C.T. (nee Boersma)
December 7, 1952 – May 29, 2015

With deep sadness mingled with thanksgiving we announce the passing of Jo-Ann. She was a supportive wife to Gary for over 38 years, a loving mother to Jeremy (Cathy) of Winnipeg, Teresa, of Winnipeg; David (Vicky) of Penhold and Alesha (Brad) of Kitchener, and a doting grandmother to Lucas, Arie, Suzanne, Brendan, Rya, Bennett and Jacob. Jo-Ann is predeceased by her mother Theresa in 2011. She will be sadly missed by her father, Jan, brothers Art (Liz) and Jack, all of B.C., numerous relatives and many friends located in the various places she has lived – Burnaby, B.C., Mt. Brydges, and Drayton, ON, Winnipeg, MB, Lethbridge and Red Deer, AB.

Our sadness comes from losing a kind, caring, humorous individual who was always concerned more about another person’s welfare much before her own. She leaves a gaping hole in our hearts.

Jo-Ann fought a valiant, 6 year battle against scleroderma and succumbed to complications following lung transplant surgery. We rejoice in knowing that her pain and suffering are over and she has entered through the heavenly portals by way of her unwavering faith in Her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Visitation will take place at the First Christian Reformed Church, 16 McVicar St, Red Deer, AB on Thursday, June 4 from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The interment will take place at Alto Reste Cemetery on Friday, June 5 at 10:30 a.m. with a memorial service to follow at 1:00 p.m. at First Christian Reformed Church of Red Deer.

“…. And I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever” Psalm 23: 6

Donations may be made to the Scleroderma Society of Canada, 41 King William Street, Suite 206, Hamilton, ON, L8R 1A2 or to Noah’s Ark, 16 McVicar Street, Red Deer, AB, T4N 0M1.
