Ken Froggatt passed away in Red Deer, Alberta on Tuesday, March 10th, 2015 due to complications from cancer. He fought so hard; he was not ready to go. Ken was ageless, young at heart, and loved life. Ken was born in Birmingham, England, immigrated to Canada on the “Empress of France” at the age of 5 with his family and grew up in Laval-Ouest, Quebec. He moved to Edmonton, then Red Deer, AB working his 35 year dream job with Fish and Wildlife which encompassed work such as re-introducing peregrine falcons to the wild, and the surveying of goats in the mountains and antelope on the prairies. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 29 years, Laura; by the absolute light of his life, his 3 sons, Ben, Dustin and Ryen; and by his treasured brother Dave (Elizabeth). He will also be lovingly remembered by his extended Kinsella and Froggatt families, and numerous friends. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Ellen, and his brothers, Geoff and Terry. Ken will be remembered for his sense of humour, his gentle spirit, and for the great joy he took in the camaraderie of his cross-country skiing, golfing, hiking and canoeing groups. He was also an avid reader, pen and ink artist, racquetball player, fisherman and cook, well remembered for his Lancashire Hotpot and Sunday dinners. Ken’s love of the outdoors will be honoured with his request to have his ashes scattered in nature at a small family gathering. Memorial donations in Ken’s honour may be made to the Nature Conservancy of Canada at http://www.natureconservancy.ca/en/what-you-can-do/donate/in_memoriam.html .
