<div itemprop="description">PERSSON, Lawrence (Larry) <br />1937 - 2015 <br /> <br />Larry passed away surrounded by his loving family at the Red Deer Hospice on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at the age of 77 years. Larry was born in Bluesky, AB, grew up in Fairview, AB, and lived in a variety of places in Alberta. Some of these places were Ponoka, an acreage just outside of Red Deer, in Red Deer, Forestburg, and finally in Lacombe. He worked for Michener Centre in Red Deer for 35 years as a steam engineer. He was a handyman. Some of his favorite past times were dancing, camping, fishing, carpentry, and he was always doing some sort of renovation on his homes. Larry always enjoyed his family get-togethers. Larry is once again reunited with his second wife, Carol Matier Persson, father, Gustav Persson, mother, Edith Persson Swanson, step-father, Roger Swanson, and all the others that passed before him. Larry leaves behind to cherish his memory his children; Diana (Mike) Lyons of Lacombe, AB, Darlene (Greg) Wallace of Aylmer, ON, Charlene (Troy Bakos) Donaghy of Lethbridge, AB, Trevor (Dalene) Persson of Calgary, AB, and Keith (Linda) Persson of Calgary, AB, step-children; Leane (Richard) Green of Kelowna, BC, Sherry (Art) Schenk of Forestburg, AB, and Nicole Matier of Innisfail, AB, twenty-three grandchildren and step-grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and many friends. He is also survived by his aunt and uncle; Bessie (Miles) King of Kelowna, BC, brother, Len (Maxine) Persson of Sylvan Lake, AB, sister-in-law and brother-in-law; Dianna and Gerry Kuffler of Penhold, AB, and his first wife, Doris Lauer of Calgary, AB. There will be an informal service at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #79, 5138 &ndash; 49 Street, Lacombe, AB, on Friday, March 6, 2015 at 2:30 p.m., followed by a light luncheon. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Larry&rsquo;s honor may be made directly to the Red Deer Hospice Society, 99 Arnot Avenue, Red Deer, AB, T4R 3S6. <br /></div>
