<div itemprop="description">Mary passed away in Red Deer at the age of 87 on December 19, 2016. She will be lovingly remembered by her children; Marilyn Shannon (Ken) of Edmonton, Dan Metzger (Joan) of Red Deer, Rick Metzger (Mitzi) of Calgary, Joe Metzger (Diane) of Red Deer, Pat Trottier (Roland) of Red Deer, Tom Metzger (Mary Jane) of Red Deer, Elaine Partsch (Ken) of Airdrie, and Andy Metzger (Chris) of Red Deer. <br> <br>She will also be dearly missed by her 19 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren as well as her brothers and sisters; Jim Kennedy (Annemarie), Grace Kaldenhoven, Ed Kennedy (Lucy), Kathleen Robinson (Art), and Gloria Wilkinson. <br> <br>Mary was predeceased by her husband Elmer Metzger, her grandson Jeffery Houseman, and her brother-in-law Bill Wilkinson. <br> <br>Mary was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was also a dedicated teacher. She was very active in her community, as a longtime volunteer at Kerry Wood Nature Center as well as a charter member of the CWL at Sacred Heart Parish. Mary was a member of the Trefoil Guild, of the Girl Guides of Canada. She was an avid gardener, a naturalist and conservationist. <br> <br>Prayers will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 5508 – 48a Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta on Thursday December 22, 2016 at 7:30p.m. <br> <br>A Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 5508-48 a Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, December 23, 2016 at 11:00am. <br> <br>In lieu of flowers donations may be made directly to Habitat for Humanity 4732 78 a Street Close, Red Deer, Alberta, T4P 2J2. <br></div>
