<div itemprop="description">MELNYCHUK, Melvin (MEL) Wayne<br><br>February 1953 - 2016<br><br>"Mel" Melnychuk of Red Deer, AB went into the arms of Jesus on August 8, 2016 in Kelowna, B.C. due to fatal injuries from a motorcycle accident two days prior on August 6th near Nakusp, B.C.<br><br>He was born to Steve and Elizabeth Melnychuk on February 19, 1953 near Foam Lake, Sask, the second of three children. Mel spent most of his growing up years in Solsqua, Grindrod, and Salmon Arm, B.C.<br><br>He married his high school sweetheart, Ellen Donahue, on April 20, 1974 who remained lovingly married to for 42 years. Many special & busy years followed with the birth of 4 daughters and 7 grandchildren who he loved so much as well. During these years he obtained journeyman status as a sheet metal mechanic. He was an extremely hard working man and the last several years was employed at Expert HVAC Solutions Inc in Calgary, daily commuting from Red Deer. He loved the people he worked with there, so the commute was worth it. He made sure to find time for the Lord, his family, and friends. He loved canoeing, camping, and discovered another passion as well the last few years for riding motorcycle. <br><br>Mel will be very much missed by loving wife, Ellen, his daughters, Avril, Amanda, Lindsey, and Leah as well as his seven grandchildren, Donaya, Tylen, Shawn, Moses, Gracie, Isaiah, and Annabelle- he was their so much loved "Bukka". Mel also leaves behind a brother Brian Melnychuk (Nancy) and his sister MaryAnn Melnychuk as well as three nieces Heather (Juan),Jennifer, and Jessica as well as several grand nephews and nieces. Also missing him will be brother-in-laws Mike (Lorna), Jo-Anne (Norm), Ken, and Pat (Louis).<br><br> A CELEBRATION of Mel's life as well as of the incredible experience he is having now with the Lord will be held at Crossroads Church-38105 Range Road, Red Deer County (off HWY 2) on Tuesday August 16, 2016 at 1:00 pm. <br><br>In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to either Haiti Arise, Compassion Canada or Central Alberta Women's Shelter.<br><br><br><br><br><br></div>
