Rita Hendry
January 4, 1945 - March 8, 2017
Rita Doreen Hendry of Edmonton was born on January 4, 1945 of Edmonton, Alberta, passed away at the Red Deer Hospice at the age of 72 years on March 8th, 2017 after a lengthy battle with cancer.
She is survived by her brother Henry Dostie, sister Bonnie Dostie of Red Deer and Barry Dostie (Gloria) of Edson. She will be dearly missed by her nephews Adrian Dostie (Kristen, daughters Rachel and Sarah), Robert Dostie (Sheila, daughter Kaitlin), Jeff Dostie (Gina), Henry ‘Dusty’ Dostie, Darnel Hendry, nieces Lyndy Logan and Sue; and Cindy and Sherry of Red Deer.
She was predeceased by her son Randy (1969), daughter Jacqueline (2007), her dad (1958), her mom (1979), as well as brothers Lawrence (1971) and Victor (2006).
Rita will also be dearly missed by numerous friends and relatives from throughout the far north as well as the Alberta area.
Her many interests included hockey, football and a mix of classical, country and rock music.
Inurnment will be held in the “Garden of Nature Walk” at Evergreen Memorial Gardens located at 16102 Fort Road, Edmonton, Alberta.
The family would like to thank all staff members at the Red Deer Hospice for their care and support they have shown Rita over the past months
