<div itemprop="description">O’Connor, Thomas “Tom” <br>1954 - 2016 <br> <br>The family of Thomas “Tom” Michael Joseph O’Connor sadly announce his sudden passing on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at the age of 62. <br> <br>Tom’s passing is mourned greatly by his wife, Cindy; daughters, Jocelyn O’Connor, Carrie O’Connor and Tracy (Ken) Lester, step-son, Alan McIlveen; granddaughter, Kaylee and grandson, Toryn. Tom is also remembered by his 5 siblings, extended family members and many friends. <br> <br>He was predeceased by his father Thomas O'Connor, his mother Tess O’Connor and his brother Jim O’Connor. <br>Tom loved being outdoors and especially loved to golf. He spent much time on the fairways at Riverbend Golf Course particularly. Tom was a generous man with his time and energy for those around him. He was a member of the Optimist Club of Red Deer, he spent an enormous amount of time coaching and volunteering for the Red Deer Central Lions Speed Skating Club and as a referee and volunteer for the Olympic Oval in Calgary and Speed Skate Canada. He was also a referee at the Olympics in Calgary and Vancouver. <br> <br>On October 7th at 7:00pm at the Village Park Inn in Calgary, we will be holding a memorial and "roast" in his honor. If you knew Tom well, you know that he was very social, telling stories and always joking around even when it made people uncomfortable. The evening will be true to his character, offering people a chance to tell stories about Tom, jokes that he may have told or something more from the heart.
