<div itemprop="description">Vivian Leung passed away on November 4, 2016 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital at<br>the age of 93. She is survived by her children, Anita (Ed), Warren (Cherry), and Sylvia<br>(Larry); extended family, Cher and daughter Chloe, Matthew and Chelsea and sons,<br>Luke and Cole, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and<br>nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Soman and her son Timothy.<br><br>Vivian was born in Victoria, the youngest of seven children. The family relocated to<br>Calgary when she was 15 and started a group of small grocery stores in the city. In<br>1944, she married Soman and the couple moved to Red Deer, where he and a partner<br>established Sterling Cleaners.<br><br>Vivian was an enthusiastic golfer and enjoyed her days as a member of “the Sloppys”<br>gang of golf hackers. She also curled and her skill on the ice far surpassed that<br>exhibited on the golf course. She was an avid bridge player and fierce opponent. In her<br>final years, her fiesty nature prevailed as she suffered a series of strokes; she remained<br>determined and undaunted by any setbacks to the end.<br><br>For Vivian, her family always came first. She was a dedicated mother to her children<br>and to a special niece, Karina, who lived with the family for a number of years.<br>At Vivian’s request, there will be a private family burial.<br><br>Memorial contributions in Vivian’s honour can be made directly to either Stars Air<br>Ambulance (www.Stars.ca) or Red Deer Hospice Society (www.reddeerhospice.com).<br></div>
