Lieuwe (Louis) Braaksma
December 28, 1925 - April 10, 2017
Lieuwe (Louis) Braaksma, beloved husband of Mrs. Durkje (Dorothy) Braaksma, passed away at the Innisfail Hospital on April 10, 2017 at the age of 91.
Louis was born in Murmerwoude, Netherlands and moved to Red Deer, Alberta in 1953. He was an avid reader and a collector of stamps and coins, however his true pride and joy was his family. Louis was an accountant for Kipp Scott for many years until he retired at 66 years old. His first job was at Vellener Motors doing hard labor around the shop, when they first situated here in Red Deer. The topics Louis loved to discuss with great passion were religion and politics. Louis was an active member of the Christian Reformed Church, starting in 1953.
He was the loving father of Kenneth (Shawna) Braaksma of Red Deer, Alberta and Randall (Nan) Braaksma of Bangkok, Thailand. And will also be dearly missed by his two grandchildren, Marcus and Bethany. He will be lovingly remembered by his many friends, Hank and Addy Jentink, Jerry and Dorothy Loonstra, to name a few; his brothers and sisters, Thijs, Wybe, Wieger, Henk and Geertje.
He was predeceased by his loving wife Durkje (Dorothy) Braaksma.
